Staff House Construction
Construction on the new staff housing is on-going. The building and plastering is finished for most of the houses, and the exterior doors and windows are installed. We were grateful for the visit of Tim and Mary McDougall earlier in the year, in order to help out with the project. The next stage will be ceiling installation, painting and wiring. Now that the builders have finished most of the work on the houses, they will try to finish up the septic systems. This involves digging very large holes in the ground, and is possible this time of year because the rains have stopped and the ground is hard. Attempting to dig holes this size in the rainy season when the ground is soft is an exercise in frustration, as the walls of the hole frequently collapse.
