The Word Reaching Kashindi

A few years ago, a local outreach team from Chitokoloki started going to Kashindi, a village in a remote area about an hour’s drive through the forest to the east of Chitokoloki to teach the Bible.  From the first visits to Kashindi, there has been significant interest from the people living there.  They have been receptive and keen to learn, with about 25-30 people in attendance every week.  They have built themselves a small grass thatch building for meetings.  

Up until recently, the team would do Bible teaching and run a Sunday School on every visit, but more recently they have started a literacy program, with the idea of teaching people to read the Bible for themselves.  The folks at Kashindi are grateful for each visit, and  a trip to Kashindi rarely goes by without that gratitude being expressed by a gift of some kind, pumpkins or maize or whatever is in season in their gardens.  

Please pray for this group at Kashindi.  The outreach team feel that some of the folks there have become believers.  Please pray especially that the people would succeed in their attempts to read and that their exposure to the Bible will result in conversions to God.  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.  Please pray for the outreach team.  Their zeal to share God’s Word has been encouraging.  Please pray for Joey, as he works alongside the team each week at Kashindi.
